2025-2026 Maximizing Federal Funds: Designing and Evaluating Professional Learning for Impact

Join Jan Callis, Oakland Schools, and Heather Sauers, CEO and Founder of Edvance Collective, for a two day session jam packed full of learning activities that will engage, challenge, and inspire educators to maximize effective professional development to gain high impact results for students!

 

Date: December 10 &11, 2025

Time: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm each day

Cost: $250/participant

SCECHs: Participants will earn 5 SCECHs per day for a total of 10 for hours attended

Learning Activities will include:

  • Understand the intersection of the Title II-A grant, needs of educators across the career continuum, and district priorities
  • Develop standards-aligned program goals based on identified district needs
  • Review the federal compliance requirements for prioritizing funds
  • Develop activity outcomes that will collectively lead to overarching grant goals
  • Discuss effective professional learning design elements
  • Draft a description of an allowable professional learning activity
  • Discuss effective evaluation of professional learning programs
  • Begin constructing an evaluation framework for your example program
  • Discuss how to utilize evaluation data for continuous improvement
  • Discuss allowability related to cost principles and the supplanting provision
  • Review barriers to implementation and conduct a self-assessment
